Seasoned Nuts
These seasoned nuts are the perfect snack to have stored in the cabinet for a savory treat. These vegan whole food plant-based treats are also great to bring to gatherings – just increase the recipe so that you have enough to share. So let’s get to making these seasoned nuts.
Before we dive into this recipe, I want to let you know that I would often make these without roasting them when I wanted a quick salty snack, but the roasting in the oven really brings in the flavors and textures. So if you are going to skip the oven roasting part, then just know that they tend to be a bit wet and messy. However, if you don’t mind getting your hands a bit messy, then feel free to skip the roasting part.
So what makes these seasoned nuts so great…
- vegan
- whole food plant-based
- easy + quick
- healthy
- bursting with flavor

Ingredients
raw cashews (For example, you can use a variety of nuts such as almonds, walnuts, peacons, etc. However, I prefer raw cashews)
liquid aminos or soy sauce
Trader Joe’s 21 salute seasoning
onion powder
garlic powder
dash of smoked paprika
dash of cayenne pepper powder (for instance, if you want that spicy kick) onetheless, they are still good regardless of which route you go with spice level.
Method
Firstly, preheat oven to 325° F. While oven is heating up take raw cashews or nuts of your choice and place in a large jar with a lid.
Secondly, take the jar of nuts and add in liquid aminos and extra virgin olive oil. Then tightly twist on lid and shake.
Thirdly, open up jar and add Trader Joe’s 21 salute seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, nutritional yeast, a dash of smoked paprika and option to add in cayenne pepper powder if you want it spice. After that, close lid tightly and shake vigorously until well combined.
Fourth step, place seasoned nuts onto a baking sheet and roast in the oven for 10 minutes. Once they are a bit toasty, let them sit out before serving.
