This easy acai bowl recipe is the perfect vegan breakfast. It’s plant-based, it’s healthy, it’s gluten-free and it’s naturally sweetened. No added sugar.

Ingredients for Easy Acai Bowl Recipe:

All you have to do is blend all smoothie ingredients into a high powdered blender. I like to use a vitamix blender.

Check out The Plant Based Palette shop to get yourself a vitamix along with other staples in the kitchen.

You don’t want to over blend the mix as it will become too much of a liquid consistency. You want the acai bowl to blend until it is a thick ice cream like texture. Once you have reached the desired consistency, transfer it to a bowl.

Take out your choice of toppings.

Toppings:

You can choose whatever toppings you have on hand or you can use these exact ingredients. The only thing I really encourage is that you have fun with this process. Get creative and enjoy making your breakfast bowl pretty, after all, you are what you eat 🙂

I truly believe that the nourishment goes beyond the actual components in the ingredients. I believe the energy transfer involved in the food and preparation is also consumed by the eater. So I say put lots of creative energy and love into making your bowl, your body and soul will feel it later.

I also made sure to add in lots of superfoods, proteins and good fats in there. Chia seeds and hemp seeds are good sources of protein and omega-3 fatty acids that the body needs. Goji berries are a good source of antioxidants. The granola adds in lot of nutritional value with some good textured crunch. More potassium with banana. Good fats with the coconut shreds plus some natural sweetening. The almond butter is high in protein and gives a smoother thicker texture to this smoothie bowl.

Ingredients
  

Smoothie Bowl Ingredients:

  • 1 pkg sambazon frozen acai
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 Tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 1 tsp spirulina
  • 1/4 tsp maca
  • 1/4 cup vegan milk (I use coconut milk)
  • a dash of cinnamon

Toppings (Optional):

  • coconut shreds
  • goji berries
  • granola
  • hemp seeds
  • chia seeds
  • 1/2 sliced banana
  • 1 Tbsp almond butter

Instructions
 

  • Blend all smoothie bowl ingredients into blender until smooth consistency.
  • Transfer to a bowl and add toppings. Get creative with how you dress up your bowl. Enjoy!
